Sport England Skate Programme: Week One at Lost Art

On Tuesday, we officially launched the Sport England skate programme at Lost Art. The session opened with a meaningful discussion on the culture of skateboarding and the vital role it plays in building connection, belonging and community.

Participants then heard from the inspirational Guy, who shared insight into the many creative and varied pathways skateboarding can lead to,  both professionally and recreationally. Guy also generously shared copies of his magazine Vague, offering a tangible example of how skate culture can extend into creative practice.

The session concluded with coaching from Geff (@hallelewah), focusing on flat-ground fundamentals, beginning with the ollie. The level of progression achieved in just one hour was remarkable and highlighted the potential of the programme.

We are incredibly proud to be part of these young people’s journeys and look forward to seeing how their confidence and skills continue to grow.
